Significance and Cultural Legacy

A celebrated wild bull with long sweeping ivory tusks, famous for leading seasonal migrations across Minneriya and Kaudulla reservoirs. Monitored closely by conservationists as a keystone breeder of the Mahaweli river basin.

"Sri Lankan tuskers represent an ancient biological and cultural heritage. Only a rare percentage of Sri Lankan Asian elephant bulls develop majestic ivory tusks, making each individual a living national treasure."
